My vote in the category of women with guns:
Yes and No—-remember hearing it mentioned but never watched it.
If I remember correctly there was a big female star, or the show made her well known.
Fell in love with 3 Babes watching Charlie’s Angels.
Became a parrot fancier watching Baretta,
and that’s the end of that tune.
Couldn’t stand Dobie Gillis
Thought Michael J Fox and friends were great on ?????????
Loved the Fonz and Richie Cunningham
Seinfeld was too sophisticated for me, but Kramer knocked me out.
Early TV wrestling featured Geogeous George, Lou Thesz and Antonino Rocca.
Chips Old Boy—Back in 84/85, or thereabouts, I watched James Garner doing his thing on The Rockford File every day—–wouldn’t miss one
episode even if it meant going without dinner. Loved that show—loved the way his phone was answered. Loved the whole crew of regular characters.
His father, the girl lawyer, the detective, the restaurant, the cars, the crazy guy who always got into trouble and Huggie————Great show.
I think you’re off by almost a decade.
I was in college in 84/85 and the show was already off the air for quite some time It was on when I was in elementary school/junior high schoool so mid-late 70’s is probably more accurate.
Oh, that’s easy. That would be Manimal, a series about a Dr. who could change into any animal to help solve crimes. It lasted for 8 episodes.
It’s interesting how most of the senior citizens on the forum pick shows from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s as the greatest tv shows of all time.
One of my friends, a free lance writer heavily involved in the entertainment industry beleives otherwise. His thoughts are that shows from the 50’s and 60’s were “forgetable garbage” and that the post Reality show tv (not the actual “reality” tv shows) of the past 15 years have actually produced the best tv shows of all time.
Does anyone remember Soap?
Angel was the crazy guy, just remembered.
Superman
Highway Patrol
Have Gun Will Travel
The Roy Rogers Show
The Lone Ranger
The Gene Autry Show
Twilight Zone
Wild Wild West

Pee Wee’s Playhouse ?
Who was Pee Wee playing house with, or was he all alone?
In whose playhouse was PeeWee playing?
I have no idea who would vote for Peewee—so I must erase that
vote and go on to Cav’s comment on the Sid Caesar/Imogene Coca Show of Shows—-a must see in the good old days—and the best group of writers of all time. Way to go Cav.
There was a show I think it was called the Comedy Hour on Sunday Nights —-1952 I think—It had a different comedian every week until 2 guys named Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis did a Sunday. That was it–they were on every Sunday from then on.
And speaking of comedy—-how about Milton Berle—Mister Television himself. The texaco Star Theater starring——–every Tuesday night.
And, don’t forget that “The Honeymooners” was only a once a month part of the weekly Jackie Gleason show on Dumont. —-And away we go !!!!
Boxing—the Gillette Friday Night Fights.
And wrestling was big back in the good old days.
Ah yes, I remember it well.
As far as the birth of TV viewing—–The Joe McCarthy Hearings with Senator Estes Kefauver were on every TV in the nation—all 206 of them.
1950 or 51——-that really was the first nationwide news event covered live.
One of my favorites from the old days is “Amos and Andy.” Truly a classic comedy.
And she was also a tempting Pussy Galore vs. James Bond —-But, I still take Diana Rigg, she had a certain something, or many things, that appealed to me—and probably a few other discriminating GENTLEMEN.
Yes indeed to me there was only one female costar on The Avengers and it was Diana Rigg.
And she was also a tempting Pussy Galore vs. James Bond —-
But, I still take Diana Rigg, she had a certain something, or many things, that appealed to me—and probably a few other discriminating GENTLEMEN.
Clara Camille in Indianapolis Ind—-hows the weather today?
Have to watch Notre Dame defeat Utah so hope it is warm—
I hate cold wet weather
Yep—Hill St Blues was terrific—-started a new era on TV and
made me an addict. Be careful out there today, it’s dangerous.
My favorites on Mystery were Morse and his red Jag, his great assistant, and his opera music. John Thaw was terrific.
Then along came Helen Mirren—she was wonderful,
Masterpiece Theater—“I Claudius” was really a theater masterpiece.
Derek Jacoby stuttered his way to fame.
