Linda-Mar Drive-In
Review by: Michael Stern
Oklahoma: Heaven For Hamburger Lovers
Hamburger aficionados consider Oklahoma a gold mine. Throughout the state, you’ll find great ones of every sort. They range from mighty steakburgers served at Cattlemen’s Steak House in OK City to the renowned onion-fried burgers of El Reno (and beyond). The city of Tulsa boasts more than its fair share of excellent burger joints. At the Linda-Mar Drive-In you find some of Tulsa’s best hamburgers.
Bring Plenty Of Appetite To Tackle The Westsider
The Westsider is a hamburger to reckon with! Two quarter-pound burger patties, good and greasy with crisp edges from the griddle, come topped with melting orange cheese and piled between two buttery slices of Texas toast. A bouquet of garnishes includes lettuce, tomato, onions, mustard, pickle chips and – on request – mayonnaise. It is a huge, unwieldy jumble of a sandwich — reason enough to put the Linda-Mar Drive-In on the well-populated list of Tulsa’s best hamburgers.
Should You Venture Beyond The Burger?
Beyond good hamburgers, which also are available as triples, the Linda-Mar repertoire is notable for its jalapeno chicken (with lots of fried hot-pepper chips mixed in among boneless nuggets), available in a basket along with a cup of gravy and a serving of crinkle-cut French fries. I also recommend the chili dog, which comes on Texas toast under a garnish of shredded cheese. The fries are nothing special, nor are the onion rings and fried okra. (Tater tots do make a good burger or chili dog companion.) I suggest to anyone visiting Linda-Mar that they direct appetite primarily to Tulsa’s best hamburgers (and maybe the chicken and chili dog, too). Just so you know: you will find a couple of more-or-less-healthful salads on the menu.
A pop-culture vibe informs this bright, happy restaurant. NASCAR memorabilia surrounds you everywhere. An overhead television plays “The Andy Griffith Show.”

Good food description, but the pictures aren’t NASCAR; they’re sprint cars (not the same, and Tulsa is famous for sprint cat racing).
