My dear friend Billy, you’ve got to round up these NY BBQ-lovin’ gents and get out to some of the great BBQ centers of this fine country. As always, I love your reports and all your reviews, but I promise you that there is indeed life beyond Dinosaur…[;)] Chris

Excellent pics and report. Too bad the food didn’t live up to the expectations. Do your friends like Al’s better than Dinosaur?

Bill – Never heard of that either…Always find the "Foo Foo" Baby Backs are more expensive…More for less…Go figure.

This might be the first place I’ve heard of that charges MORE for regular ribs than Baby Backs. Anyone else think that’s a bit strange?

And you’re so lucky you have a GF who shares your love for Roadfood adventures.

The guy I’ve been dating is not quite like that … (does’nt like to pig out all over the place, etc..

Ellen, after we "pig out" in Dallas when your here in April, you might want to ditch your BF and team up with me. (LOL)

    hey, twinwillow,
    you never know,
I just might ditch the guy!!

Sadly, I must admit, you aren’t really going to miss much WJ…but when you live here, sometimes you need a fix!

That is definitely the tallest "onion haystack" I’ve ever seen!
I agree with you, as that dipping sauce would’nt really do it for me, either.
I like a southwestern onion blossom sauce, Outback style..

I liked the way the pork ribs looked, but the beef ribs were not crusty enough looking.
And since you did not find the ribs, brisket, etc. tender enough , I will NOT be taking a trip to Smokin’ Al’s. I respect your taste buds ..

Ann, I’ve been to Saz’s, but not the original location. I went to the concession they had at the mall in Downtown Milwaukee- I can’t remember the name of the mall because that was…I can’t believe I’m going to say this…10 years ago!!
I remember Cheesecurds were on the menu- so that was what I had!

sounds like you add the perfect New Years Eve, Ann! (ribs, followed by the comforts of home to watch the ball drop!) (I’m envious)
and thanks for the nice compliments about my NJ roadfood report, etc…

Don, I didn’t get to see the prep area in the back, but just behind the shot of the pulled pork, beef and chicken is the grill where they put some char on racks of ribs and where they mop them if you order them wet. I saw two boxes that looked like smokers on either side of the grill. I do hope they smoke their meats and I just caught a batch that for some reason didn’t pick up the smoke. I tried to get pics of the pit but it was busy and I couldn’t get a clear shot. Ellen, I wouldn’t say my GF shares my LOVE for Roadfood, she more or less tolerates it. Javascript:insertsmilie(‘[;)]’)
