I just went to Priceline, and got my room at Fairfield Inn, about 2 miles from Moonlite, for $46. I wonder whether Mrs. Bushie wears aloha shirts?
I have 200 MEG of pictures of this event… Who has highspeed?
Tammy and I also managed to run into Louis at the Bon Ton.
What a great weekend!
Bushie will have Mrs. Bushie on his arm, so he will be on his best "Company Manners" behavior. Besides we will fill him with "Indiana Crude" prior to delivering him to the Kentucky side of the River for the celebration. That’ll calm him down !
That Holiday Inn Express is within easy walking distance of the restaurant.[:o)]
Hello all ,
Looks like you all had a great time . Congrats on planning and organizing the event .
Did Seafarer John ask for a coney Dog at any time ? Just kidding .
Hope to be able to join you all next year .
If Bushie is gonna be there acting like a Texan and braggin bout them NATIONAL CHAMPIONS and such crap, I’m stayin home.
While Texas is fine, if you look for the geographical center of the lower 48 states it lies outside of Lebanon, Kansas, in the middle of a hog farm. We may not find anything READY to eat there but Kansas City is known for BBQ and not that far away from Lebanon. I am not sure what the center of the populition of the RoadFood club is or if any of this even matters……..but if we want a great turn out we need to look into this.
Rick, that’s great that you’re coming.
I stayed in Owensboro at The Executive Inn. http://www.executiveinnrivermont.com/
I don’t remember the website making it look that fancy a couple of years ago, so it may be more expensive than before. At the time, it was nice and reasonably priced. Right down on the river.
Here’s some other places to choose from:
I see from the address that the Holiday Inn Express on West Parrish is just right up the road from the Moonlite.
You know? Austin or or Ricks home town would work for me. Meat pies or great beef would be super. Ricks home town would be much closer for me but the thought of beef BBQ in Bushies home town would be great also.
I did the Salt Lick with bushie last year and I have to say it was great.
Personally I do not care where we go. I have enjoyed every place we have been. Hay’s in Lexington was super, Moonlite was super, Browns Hotel was super and regardless where we go, I will enjoy it.
As a moderator I will work will all to work with a site that will best encourage the most attendance and the best experience.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Paul E. Smith
Thanks. Routing I think I can handle, but suggestions would be most welcome just in case. However, lodging info would be a big help. Is there a convenient motel?
OK – boys and girls! I suggest Bushie and Al get together on this, but President’s Day next year is Feb. 19, which makes the Glee Club weekend the 17th. If anyone has a better date, then please offer up – but with a year’s head start we should have a good crowd.
You folks would be MOST Welcome. The place has room for a large bunch of folks, so bring whomever you wish. Let me know if you want some routing suggestions. We hope to see you shortly.
Did there happen to be a Rooster on that bottle of coffee syrup???? Just used up the last of mine and have GOT to have my brother send more!!!![:p] …..and dont just use it for milkshakes!!!—AWESOME eith ice cream and drizzled over pound cake and added to whipped cream and for egg creams!!!!
Is the guest list still open? I could make it easily by stopping at my daughter’s in Martin, TN. That is, if $ & her hospitality hold out!
For some reason (probably my own ineptitude), my "reply w/quote" didn’t quite come out right. See the small print underneath Rick’s PS above! lunasatic
