I was working managing an office in the Toledo area. I couldnt get out most days and had somebody bring me dinner back. Right next door was the Capital Diner. The place was always so packed it was unbelievale. The food was decent diner fare. I would get blueplates like pork chops, meatloaf, stuffed peppers and cabbage rolls. The guys I sent would always be gone over an hour. The reason was a line down the block. I had to check it out to see what they were doing.
It turns out that this was a Hooters without the wings and stuff. It was back in 92 so it might predate Hooters anyway. The girls were all long legged beauties. The coustume(uniform?) was hot pants and midriffs, stockings and high heels. I talked to the owner one day(I finaly decided the food was better in, lol). He paid for beauty parlor, health clup and tanning. I dont know where the girls carried all the tips in those outfits. The first time I went in I stood in line for 40 minutes with the suits and ties. The owner only did 6AM-2PM. He said he wasnt greedy.
There was also a Greek place up the street that had a similar operation.
The food was actually good down to the diner style grease burgeres.
Anyone up in Toledo bak in the early 90’s and stopped in?
