A popular breakfast and lunch place with four locations in the Reno-Tahoe area is starting to franchise and is bringing its first non-local unit to Redwood City, less than a mile from me. It’s due to open this Fall.
Not the Squeeze Inn (with those amazing cheese skirts), the Squeeze In is famous for their omelets and competed with Bobby Flay on Throwdown in 2010.

Update: The Squeeze In breakfast and lunch place opened in Redwood City, CA in March 2015 and is a big hit. Their menu is huge, so I haven’t begun to scratch the surface of it, but my favorite item so far is their pancakes, which are fluffier than any I’ve had anywhere. Their home fries are deep fried chunks of potatoes–quite yummy, too. They started out in the Reno-Tahoe area, and this is their first expansion beyond that region. Unlike many breakfast places they have a liquor license and serve some excellent mimosas and bloody marys. (Whatever the plural of mary should be…) I still love Stacks in Redwood City, too, but Squeeze In is just a mile from my house. [8D]
