Very sad indeed. I have eaten there many times. I also miss The London Chop House. You still have the best restraunt in the country nearby called The Lark and Tapawingo in Ellsworth up north is right up there also….Russ
Apparently business has been so bad that the venerable and legendary Carl’s Chop House is becoming a strip joint.
It makes me sick to my stomach.
They must really be struggling as the owner, Frank Passalacqua would never stoop so low if he wasn’t in the hurt locker something fierce.
I took my mom there for mother’s day about 4 years ago and it was wonderful. If the change goes through that sure ain’t gonna happen again … I think I’m gonna stop by and give him some business – and the business – before anything changes.
Hopefully people will make the effort to stop by for dinner and show a little support before it goes that way.
It’s very, very sad.
