Actually there is no real "road" food although the towns all have restaurants or hotels, etc. Some good not-miss spots are Rika’s in Delta Junction and Talbots in Destruction Bay near Klaune Lake. Also Fast Eddie’s in Tok. The bigger towns you go thru such as Dawson Creek and Prince George are neat. Before you go check out Milepost Magazine which is a travel mag for the Alaska Hwy. Most of it is paved now but make sure your vehicle is in good shape. Gas stations are about 50 miles apart Don’t go in winter cause the weather is bad and it’s dark most of the day. Summer is delightful and the mosquitos dine very well[:D]
Your best chances for roadfood on the Al-Can, I’d imagine, would be "Road-Kill !
so, in about a year, i’m heading "north to alaska"…and i’m wondering, are there good places to eat along the al-can? or is it completely slim pickins?
if anyone has driven this, let me know. i’d really appreciate any info, not just about the food but the drive itself!
