My BIL’s parents house burnt down last year, the fire started while his parents were gone for the day and they lost their cats.(At this point I should say she was called the "Crazy Cat Lady" by the neighbor hood)
She was so distraught about the loss she swore off taking in cats……
At Christmas they rescued 2 cats 1 black and 1 white, she announced at Christmas dinner that they had 2 new cats and their names were CRISPY and CREAM.
The whole dinner table sat in silent disbelief. My BIL asked his mother why after losing over 20 cats in the fire she would name a cat CRISPY.
Her response… "Oh I never thought about that… We just like the donuts" [V][V][V][V][V][V][V][V][V]
Could have been worse, CRISPY and CRITTER. [;)]
OH.. that reminds me of a pet shop that burned down near my old house in Miami in the 60’s.. It was in a strip mall, and the Westward Ho restaurant caught fire.. pet shop was right next to it.
I can still hear my neighbor talking about crispy critters![:0]

This is Larry Longdog. He is a rare pot-bellied chowhound. We acquired him when he came walking into the house through a doggy-door.Looks like a fat dachshund to me![:0][;)]
But cute!
He’s not fat, he just has short legs!
Angel is my rescued dog by my deceased wife. She is a small dingo type dog that weights about 24 pounds. She was my wife’s dog.
After Judi died, it took Angle about a few months to finally decide that I was the boss and now she loves me. It took her a while.
Now I cannot go anywhere without her. Everytime I go out on the deck to feed the ducks, she is right beside me. She sleeps beside me every night. She is not a dog friendly animal as she hates all dogs and other animals but she is an extremely super watch dog. She can hear everything. She alerts me to any visitor. She can hear anyone coming down the driveway.
She is ten years old and extremely active. I hope she hangs around a long time. I will certainly miss her when she is gone.

We took in two cats from the shelter. They were inseparable so we took both. One’s name is ‘Tastes Like Chicken’ and the other is ‘The Other White Meat’. They don’t see the humor.

Awwwwwwww…….
you guys have some pretty cute pets here but not as cute as Grandpa’s little pet tiger………… who also looks a lot like my grand-daughter Sacha
Since Gigi is a rescue pup, I wanted to put this little poem here.
I didnt write it.. saw it on the SilkyTerrier rescue site.
But, I think it sums up what a dog could possibly think.
———————————————————
Now that I’m home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I’d like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry –
So much to regret.
Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top
Let’s unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave –
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn’t good enough – for they didn’t want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things –
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do – I’m so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage –
Will you still want me?
