Hello All,
When I first found roadfood, I went through nearly every thread. Now, I just check out what is on the
page, and will often check back various pages depending on the subject.
It is interesting to see what people have said over the past years, and how some people have changed,
who has come and gone, some of the arguments and evolution of this site, etc..
Take Care,
Fieldthistle
My limit is about 6 or 7 pages and then only if I’ve read some of the earlier stuff already. By that time, the repetitive posting of the same info and hijacking of the thread has taken hold and it’s just not worth it to me. I’m retired but I do have a life (I’m amazed at how busy I stay in retirement). I’ve even been using the search feature and had that Long Gone Chains thread come up and said ‘no way’ I’m scrolling through 36 pps to find the mentions. It’s a shame, because there’s undoubtedly some very good information buried in there.
I’ve wondered how far back from the end of the thread one would have to scroll to find someone who posted ‘I haven’t read the whole thread, but has anybody mentioned Lum’s?’ [:D]
And TJJackson is right, it’s even got the word ‘chain’ in the thread title; it belongs in the FF and Chain forum.

I hafta be honest … I never bother with a thread that goes too long.Once it hits about three pages, I don’t have the energy to trod though it.
Same here, especially if I don’t get here for more than a day. If the forum software here allowed you to click on something that would take you to your first unread post I’d be more likely, but having to wade through the entire thing to figure out where I left off is WAY too much of a PITA for me to deal with. Most of the time the longer threads don’t really have anything new anyway, just new people saying the same things again.
I also like the idea of being able to pick up where you left off when reading a thread.

The What Are You Listening To Now thread has many pages, although it’s been some time since anyone has posted in that thread.
I am listening to Marty Stuart’s Soul’s Chapel as I post. A great CD.
No, I said it. I just used invisible ink.
…which is what i said.

Roossy s [email protected]#$%^ Gas Prices $#%^$#!!! Thread thus far has generated 11 pages of comments and will probably go on for quite some time yet. What is the largest number of pages generated by a thread and what was it?
