    I usually serve it with some crusty bread-to sop up all the juice/gravy.

    Hope all who tried it liked it![:)]

    As of now, at this late time, I just checked my crock pot..
    Added a bit more OJ, and am most certainly anxious to see the result in 4 hours.
    I will be taking a pic or 2..
    I just threw in a whole orange, just to give it kick, at this late cooking process.
    I am thrilled with the smell in the house. Didnt have allspice, but tossed in a bit of cinammon……….
    I added carrots, celery, onions….. just to give it a pot roast feel, and just added wide egg noodles.
    It will be so good.
    I can tell.
    Although I totally altered the recipe, I did put everything listed in it, just added veggies and noodles to make it a crock meal.
    I will show you pics.
    It smells really good.
    Been cooking since 8 PM…
    (yeah. at this late time of the AM)..
    Sheesh, I gotta get to sleep!

    Not that I would want you to think I found your recipe interesting, or anything like that, but — YUM!

    That sounds really good.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
    Do you think I could sub frozen OJ concentrate for the fresh squeezed?
    I like the idea of the crock pot better than on the stove.
    I am doing it this evening….

    I am 1/2 Portuguese and just want to share a recipe my Va-Voa (grandmother) used to make all the time. Hope you like it.

    This is marinated beef, Portuguese style. As a variation to cooking, I place all ingredients in a slow cooker on high, stirring often, and cook for about 3 hours, until meat shreds itself.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
    * 3 oranges, juiced
    * 1/4 cup white wine
    * 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
    * 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
    * 2 bay leaves
    * 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    * 1 teaspoon paprika
    * 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    * salt and ground black pepper to taste

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Rinse beef, and place in large bowl. Pour in orange juice, wine, oil and pepper sauce. Season with bay leaves, garlic, paprika, allspice, salt and pepper. Mix, to coat beef. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
    2. Heat a heavy skillet over medium heat. Cook beef and marinade until beef shreds easily, about 1 hour. Add water as needed.
