What do the old posters do?[:o)]
Welcome and love the name "DoggyDaddy"…that was from one of my favorite cartoons as a kid!
I think Stephen Rushmore said it pretty well in the interview about Roadfood.com that was posted here recently. To paraphrase– We have over 30,000 members who have postedalmost a Quarter of a Million posts in these 25 forums. We work very hard to make this a welcome place, but do have to deal with a very few difficult entries now and then.
I repeat my earlier message- If you have a problem please contact a moderator via email, before creating a larger problem on the boards. The Moderators are all volunteers and work together to try to settle any issues with a minimum of disruption, so this site will indeed be the welcome place to discuss all forms of Roadfood!![:D][8D][:D]
To All the "Ol’ Timers" thanks for the welcome.
I love roadfood, I love driving down some back road and around a corner sits this run down shack. Outside this shack is 35 cars, a rusty coke or pepsi sign and an open sign. Inside this shack is some of the best (insert your favorite food here) I have ever eaten.
Some of my best food experiences have come from happy misteaks.
I am really glad there is a place to share these misteaks.
Thanks again for the welcome.
ps there is nothing wrong with wanting a sammich or some taters.
Thanks for the welcome. I have been a Roadfood type of guy for many years. I think I found this site while looking up Hot Dog Johnny’s website for an trip I was planning. I have eaten at many places listed before I knew there was this site devoted to it. Since I found this site, it seems that I have been posting every day.
As it is, I have been a fan of the Sterns for a long time starting with THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BAD TASTE, but I have a few of their other books too. Went to their book signing last week in Ridgefield and got TWO FOR THE ROAD. They are fun people. Consequently, so are the folks who are on this forum.
We all go to fast food places but we just don’t admit to it on this site. [}:)]
Welcome to all. New posters keep Roadfood fresh and stimulating.
A forum for the discussion of the Fast Food and Non-Roadfood type of chain operations was created because of the concerns that you and others had about that issue. That is the place to put posts about FF type of places. The forum is a busy one, and I think most of the problems like the one you mentioned have been solved when folks post in the appropriate topic area. You are correct when you say that the FF area seems to create major differences of opinion between members.
Here’s my biggest disappointment with Roadfood new members–people tend to jump all over new folks who don’t understand the Roadfood concept. A guy says he goes to McDonald’s, and people joyfully mock him instead of educating him about the site.
We do welcome all of you new members to the Roadfood Site. Please take note of the first two threads on this (the Roadfood News Forum) Thats where the rules for operation are explained.
Most conflicts can be resolved quickly by using the email service provided on the site to contact a moderator, when you have a question.
The management hopes to discourage arguments and "less-than Courteous" exchanges between members (Flaming)in the threads, in order to promote good communications about the things we enjoy in the Roadfood Domain.
Welcome again to Roadfood.com. We hope you enjoy your visits and come back again soon.
New here as well.
My daughter as a little girl always called her sandwich a "Sammich" She is now 35 and will be having her third child in only 3 more weeks.
It was just an hour ago when her car pulled up in front of our home and out she came. Her husband was watching the kids and she felling very pregnant wanted a little time with her Mom. She just asked her Mom to make her a ……Sammich……….. I kid you not…………………….lol
nice to meet y’all!
Welcome to you and other new folks!
There are thousands of members and many thousands of posts that didn’t "incur a moderators wrath". The example you link to is a very rare instance, which I assume you know as a long time reader. No need to be nervous!
