Does it count as dog years if they scratch in public?
My beloved and I have been together for three years; I always say it feels more like 5 minutes….underwater.

Oh, you don’t have to explain eternity to me. I was married before.
For a wedding cake try a chocolate doberge from Gambino’s.

Elise,
Do a search on Zoe’s Bakery in Covington LA. THey will deliver (I know I’ve done it). The guy was the pastry chef at Windsor Court for years and married a woman on the NOrthsohore and moved over here and opened up a bakery. Specialty cakes are kind of his deal. Search on Zoe’s in Covington Louisiana and you will get a bunch of review type hits. His name is Shane Gorringer. Unbelievably good pastry and wedding cakes are his specialty. He makes them for weddings all over the South.
I’m sure you’ve been just waiting for this joke, but I was too distracted by the unikilt. Now I just can’t pass up such a beautifully set up straight line. OK, here goes…ready…

Hmmmn, if I recommend someone, can I show up in my kilt? I promise to behave with at least a little decorum, and I’m great with wedding presents….just ask the people who found themselves on the receiving end of a half a hog.
Well, if you’re not going to go whole hog don’t bother!
Whew, OK I feel better now.
Oh, I still rock n roll! Why do you think he’s marrying me ( well, besides my cookin’)?

breakin’ their hearts like they were toys…

I need a bakery! We were thinking of a Bananas Foster inspired cake…not far off from banana moonpie!
You know, even though it is a carry over from another topic, a bannana moon pie wedding cake would be a sublime and wonderful treat. I know a couple of bakers in town who would live to take a crack at it.[;)]
Actually, the reason I posted is to tell you that the Praline Connection caters as well. They should be pretty well in what your price range sounds like. Great food too!
Elise,
You know it’s a shame that you aren’t being married in Vegas. Jan and I were, in 1995, and really enjoyed using the chapel on Las Vegas Blvd that has the ‘drive-up’ window. What better AND more appropriate place for a roadtripper to be married than in a caravan of friends all passing thru the ‘drive-up’!!
BTW We used one of the interior chapels and not the drive-up![8D]
Mike Andeson’s looks great, though maybe a little more expensive than our budget allows. We’ll check it out. Thanks!
I’ll second the Gumbo Shop….mmmmmmmm. They do mail order as well, I just might have to treat myself to that! Your wedding sounds like its going to be memorable EliseT! [:)]
Another good place to try is Mike Andersons Seafood. They cater (good food) and they have a great upstairs and a balcony. We used to rent it the last Saturday during Carnival and the price with food and drink was great. Nice people and easy to deal with. Good Luck
