Larry… Welcome to Roadfood! And this Yankee loves his chili dogs! (But none of that canned stuff… Most stands around here always have a pot of homemade chili simmering on the stove).. Wishing you the best of luck there! (Make sure you have plenty of bottled water on ice, especially in this heat wave). And I’m glad to see your using Kent Hot Dogs.. They’re made right here in town (Grand Rapids, MI) at their facility on Leonard St NW. http://www.kentqualityfoods.com/

Howdy,
Soon I’ll be opening up a SnoBiz shave-ice/ Hot Dog cart in front of my local Home Depot here in Bossier City, La. I’m excited!
Here in humid NW Louisiana, SnoCones (or more correctly "shave-ice") is much more popular than hot dogs; call it a culture difference from the hot-dog loving NE and Chicago.
I’ve learned quite alot about ‘dogs here on this forum. I’d like to share with ya’ll what I plan to serve..
I’ll serve Kent all-beef ‘dogs on a roller grill. I’ll sell Earl Campbell hot links. I’ll use Wolfe brand Chili instead of the cheaper Chef Mate. A Hot Dog vendor in adjacent downtown Shreveport told me that at least 66% of his ‘dogs are sold with Chili & cheese; I wonder if it’s that way in the NE?
If there’s anything I need to be doing, please ask or let me know; I don’t claim to know as much about ‘dogs as you passionate Yankees! 🙂

Can you tell me the process of selling at a Home Depot. I investigated here in MA and they use a 3rd party which was ok by me. What I found problematic was the hrs and days you were required to stay open. Can you give us some details on the HD requirememts in your location?
