Never understood the appeal of those K cups some of you talk about……the cost per serving is so high…and the ones I have tasted don’t overly impress….Ok, so you can have dozens of varieties…very expensive varieties……If I want variety,I’ll get half pound packages of new blends…..if I find a winner,I’ll get larger amounts…I drink 2-3 mugs a morning…..K cups is a windfall for the coffee companies….pay by the single cup…premium price…I’ll make my 12 cup pot of premium for less than half the price,I bet!!!

Neither Janet nor I don’t drink coffee.  This is not a religious or cultural thing.  We just never took a liking to it.  She drinks tea.  I rarely drink tea, but will drink a Diet Coke or part of one in the morning.  For some reason, northerners act with revulsion to Cola drinking before noon.  I’m not sure why many have that reaction.  Cola has less caffeine than coffee or tea, and there is nothing “magical” about a clock hitting 12 noon as far a what one can drink. … An odd superstition or “old wives tale”, I suppose.

Since undergoing Chemo, I find my breakfast drinks vary substantially.  Sometimes, coffee is not in order.  I’ve had combos of pineapple juice and coke, Ginger Ale and Cranberry, and a cple of “protein shakes”.usually van I/C, a banana, some Vanilla, sugar or honey and a Boost or 2…sometimes cut with milk to make less thick.

I have made my own Watermelon water (both white and pink rind, lemonade, honey).  Much better than Trader Joes stuff!

If that drink you posted is helpful for running, it should be outstanding for the rest of us.

Think I’ll have one, too–for the same reason, of course. [:p]

OK, I’ll ‘fess up.  When I lived in Alaska we would go over to our friends’ house at 9AM to watch football. ( 4-hour time difference) And yes, we would start the kick-off with Bloody Marys.  And we’d drink Bloody Marys at half-time and at the end of the game too!

OK, if we want to talk about game days, then I too always start the day with a Bloody Mary at 9:00.  Always at the Blue Dube just North of the OSU campus.  We usually have about 3 before we head to the Shoe.

I like the Newman’s Own Medium Roast extra bold K-Cups.  I got a big box of them for Christmas and it’s turned into my new favorite.

I bet fresh turmeric and ginger would be good grated over plain Greek yogurt.  Might as well add a squeeze of honey and lime.
