Roossy, stay with XP for a few more years. Vista is gonna need a mon of 1 gig of memory. It won’t run great until it has 2gigs. You can run XP for several more years.
For those of you thinking about getting a new PC then look at the Vista requirements and go by those. Don’t buy anything with less then 1 gig of memory.
Good thing memory is cheap, I remember paying $50 a meg back in 92.
Nor do I….
I have no security issues. I do NOT depend on MS for them. [:D]
"As Microsoft intends to fix this issue only in future releases of their OS (according to their response), I encourage security vendors to update their products to detect this behavior as soon as possible."
IE7 is garbage!!!
This is the worst security issue i have ever seen on a browser!
I run Windows XP Professional at home & @ work. Do not plan to upgrade to Vista anytime soon. I will convert to Linux first… IE7 no big deal. I have deactivated many of it’s features so it basically runs similar to IE6. I also have FireFox 2.0, and like it well, especially since it accepts proxy addresses. However, there are things that IE can do that FF can’t, and vice versa, so I keep them both handy.
I am happy with IE6.. I just D/L IE7..
I have a one year old Laptop that cost me my first born……
I cant see upgrading, since my laptop is just over a year old.
Not sure what the diff is with IE6/-compared to 7, cept for the vanity portion.
I have only looked at it for about 10 minutes now, and as the week goes by, I will see just whats going on with the IE7….
Happy with IE6……. just waiting to see whats IE7 all about.
Just curious if I had to upgrade to Vista.
I remember buying my Gateway back in 2000, with Me.. (millenium).. It had some great features, but everyone called it the devil dog from hell.. I never had a problem with Me…
So what the hell do I know from XP and Vista?
I’m happy with my Macintosh (at home). [:D] We use Windows XP at work. It is OK but buggier and much, much less elegant. Hopefully Vista will be better. As for Explorer, why not try Firefox 2.0? Microsoft gave up on Internet Explorer on the Mac most likely realizing their version 7.0 was not going to be as good as Safari on the Mac. Firefox is an impressive browser.
Don’t know much aabout Vista yet, but I’m already sick of my current computer security features. They don’t make me feel so "secure", just annoyed. Sort of like the Republicans of Computers! (I didn’t really mean this to be a political comment, but more of a metaphor. I’m not looking for a fight here, just a comment on "security")
If you need a new computer, I’d make sure it was included, otherwise I’d skip it as it will eat up your older computer’s resources. I did upgrade to IE 7 and I love the tab feature but I’m already sick to death of some of the security features. I’ll withhold giving it a passing or failing grade until I’ve used it for some time. Not much help, hey?
Ok.. so I see Vista is the next OS…
What happened to XP?
Do I need to upgrade?
And I see Internet Explorer 7 is now available..
Microsoft Vista OS/IE7
