While I am satisfied to watch others enjoy the mad-house that is Mardi Gras in several places around the country, I am glad it will be over and done before we head for Mobile, AL about this time next month.[:I]

Been to Mardi Gras once. Well Fat Tuesday. It was so jammed packed with people that my feet actually left the ground it got so tight. The people are drunk and crazy.

Now the week prior to Fat Tuesday is a blast. I’ve done that a half dozen times. There are parades every day in one area or another.

I’m not a youngster, but I’ll knock down kids and grandmas to get those worthless beads.

    I have a closet full!

Oh, another thing… stay in Metarie or Mandiville and drive in to the Quarter early. Cheaper and safer!

Mardi Gras along with New Year’s Eve Times Square is on my list of things to do when I win the Powerball lottery. [:D]

I did accidentally book myself in a hotel right in the heart of Bourbon Street one June night and didn’t even realize that Bourbon Street closed down to traffic in the evening and people paraded on the street with drinks and beads were thrown from balconies. So I guess you can have a mini celebration at any time of the year. It was fun.

What I meant by accidentally is that I was actually going to Metarie to do a architectural construction observation. I told my admin to find out where the construction project manager was staying and to book me there. I didn’t even ask where and grabbed my itinerary and hopped on the airplane. Little did I know until I arrived it was Bourbon Street. I gave the valet my rental car and noticed a lot of familiar faces on the street and hotel lobby. Our construction department was having a conference with construction site supervisors from all around the country in attendance. Drinks were not covered by company expenses but the guys were more than happy to buy my rounds and give me grief about the designs and construction drawings. [;)]

    Ain’t that the absolute truth.

I’ve been around a bit but I’ve seen stuff in the Quarter I’m still a little too shy to ask about[:I].

Take your kids to the Quarter if your so hip you just love to answer awkward questions, well…awkwardly…and often[:o)][:D]!

    Two tips,

Flashing is okay but don’t put your phone in your bra for safe keeping then do it. Your phone will be gone and no one will care if you cry because you were so stupid and we certainly won’t help you look for it lol

They’ve been showing COPS episodes from previous Mardi Gras. Some people are just plain stupid!
