We’ll be in the Knoxville, Loudon, Lenoir City, Maryville TN area for several days in Mid-February. Looking for good places to eat! Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks… Papa Bear
Obviously, I am very late in responding. Last Thursday evening my wife and I ate at Foothills Milling Company in Maryville. We shared a romaine lettuce wedge salad and were quite pleased with it. A palate cleanser of raspberry sorbet was brought between the salad and the entree. Before the salad arrived, our waitress brought us each a small bite of grouper to sample. It was enough to convince my wife to order the fried grouper entree. I had the Octoberfest Special – pork chop, sausage, kraut, and potatoes. For dessert, we shared an indivdiual peach cobbler.
Foothills Milling Company was recommended to me by an acquaintance in Knoxville – who is a personal chef. He recommended this restaurant when I asked where to eat in Knoxville – advising that it is currently the best restaurant in Knoxville (even though it is not in Knoxville). My meal was the best I have had in some time. The pork was more like ham. The sausage, kraut, and potatoes were all very enjoyable. The accompanying mustard sauce was the perfect complement.
He also recommended Litton’s and Chesapeake in Knoxville – but we only had the one meal on this quick trip. This wasn’t roadfood, but it was delicious.
