In the 30+ years that I have been going to the gas station/convenience stores here in northwestern Kentucky to buy Hostess pies, I have only in the last couple of years seen the blueberry and blackberry pies. Today for the first time I saw a Hostess strawberry pie. The only Hostess pie I have not seen yet is the raspberry pie. Maybe it will be available here someday.

Strawberry is in the group that rotates with Blueberry and Peach. It is available usually in the spring; Blueberry is the flavor that is available right now. I haven’t seen Pineapple for a long, long time. What are you wanting for "pudding"? Chocolate and/or Lemon are available most of the year. I haven’t seen Vanilla for years. By the way, I am in central Illinois, and I sent 2cookies her Blueberry pies. UPS shipping for her (in Virginia) was $7.76 for 10 pies.

This message board is fantastic…I just discovered it today.I live in Canada, and as FoodDude mentioned, we have no Fruit Pies here. I have no idea why. It makes me sad, though. Whenever I’m in the States, I end up trying to figure out how to transport like 15 Fruit Pies back to Canada without crushing them. It’s a big challenge.
Anyway, I’ve been looking for a website where I can order Fruit Pies and have them shipped to Canada, but there doesn’t seem to be anything like that out there.
I noticed that 6stars arranged to ship Pies to someone in Florida…I’d certainly be willing to pay a friendly American with Fruit Pie access for the trouble of buying, securely packaging, and shipping some Fruit Pies to me. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and I would be very grateful if someone out there was willing to do this. Email me at [email protected] if you think you can help me, and maybe we can work something out.
Thanks, and long live the Fruit Pie!
the reason you are not able to get fruit pies in canada has to do with the fact that they contain real fruit. canada has strict laws regarding transport of foreign agricultural products into their country and it probably would cost too much to get the approval..
Cajunking, I feel your pain as I have the same problem.
Has anyone tried the Entenmann’s fried fruit pies? I saw them for the first time at a local Stop & Shop a couple of days back. They were packaged similarly to the Hostess pies.

Being a diabetic every once in a while I have a craving for the hostess chocolate pie, or an apple one
mom used to get them for us as kid at the bakery thrift store, she would allow us 2 a day.
one for packed lunch at school and one for after school watching gilligan’s island. [:I]

With this thread in mind I bought two Hostess cherry pies tonight. I can conservatively estimate that it’s been 20 years since I stuck a Hostess pie of any sort in my tater trap.
I was instantly transported back to the mid 60’s. The flavor and texture were just as I remember. However, they seemed to weigh less, and at $1.29 they certainly weren’t 13 cents like they were back in those far off days.
I noticed this too re the weight — there seemed to be more air and less filling in the pie the last time I had one than there used to be. [V] But, I still like them but don’t have them very often.

I am responding to 6star who evidently is the connection for the Hostess Blueberry Pies.I would love to have some shipped to me. At this point I don’t mind paying the shipping. I have emailed the Hostess company but they did not respond. Please let me know.
Thanks 2cookies[8D]
I stopped at a Hess Mart on the way home the other night and they had them Chocolate Pudding Pies I should have grabbed all they had. I did of course grab one it was like being 12 again.
I think I will go get one now.[:p]
Ah…after years of searching/waiting I walked into the local gas station in Buffalo that typically carried lemon, cherry, apple, blueberry pies – and now, low and behold – the Hostess Chocolate Pudding Pie is back. Awesome!!! Oh…as an update to my first post I also found some gas stations that carried the Strawberry version during the summer as well.
I would be willing to make a trade or supply a shipment. Do you have (or know someone who has) access to Hubig’s pies in your area? I’ve been wanting to try them.

I look forward to my next trip to Ralphs and the purchase of a couple of lemon pies this time.
I received an e-mail from a lady at Tastykake and she said they no longer sell the pies online. She said they used to and you had to buy a case (36 pies) and she said that the high price of shipping and handling was the reason they quit selling them. Because of the short sell by date they had to ship them overnight and thus, shipping and handling cost an arm and a leg. I don’t know what I would do with 36 pies anyways. Thanks for everyone’s help.
hmmm. did you try

DavidEMartin, I received your e-mail, thank you. When I read your post about Tastykake making the pies I went to the same website, but you can’t buy them on that site. Do you know of one where you can order Tastykake pies? I’ve seen different sites where you can buy the cake products, but you can’t order the pies. They look delicious and I wouldn’t mind trying them.
