Bento? Frank, you must be in California! In Nashville, I think a bento box at Home Depot would be about as popular as a hairball slider.
Actually outside Portland Oregon. The bento sold very well.
I have noticed that all the concessions in WI are inside the store. In Oregon where the weather is a little less harsh in winter the concesions are otside between the doors. They use trailers (not carts) and leave them there permanently.
I am new to the forum but not the business.
I have been approved to setup at a Home Depot in the Houston area. The rent seems high.
Anyone operate at a Home Depot? Is it worth the rent?
I can also be reached at [email protected]
Thanks
Hiya CSD-
I remember you previously saying how Home Depot made excessive demands to use their lot. Is Lowes a lot different?
Thanks!

A nice change of pace at The Home Depot would be Roossy’s Ribs and Runzas. (I ain’t talking about that purple thingy either)
I know alot of people griped about Rossys Runzas, but I have to say, I’d be the first in line to sample one!
Vic, I think they were just jealous and wished they all were my next door neighbors!
And when you get to this neck of the woods, or anyone else. I will make you a real one, (NOT purple), and you can see for yourself.

Gasp.. that purple thingy!
I made a true Runza the other night.
Green cabbage, onions, meat.. Man.. it was good.
(I am glad for that orginal thread)
But… I dont think they would fly at Home Depot.
(well. maybe a regional thing)
Ribs might be a bit too much for lunch on the fly..
I really cant see anyone walking around Home Depot with a rib in their hand…
Thanks Nebguy….[;)][;)][;)]
Our local Home Desprate has a Dunkin Donuts set up in the entrance/exit froyer what a pain in the butt! People trying to get in and out with carts, and all kinds of other stuff stacked there. Just not worth it. I wouldn’t stop there. Give me the local hardware guy, more bang for your buck. Chow Jim
Hello All,
At our local Lowes, someone set up a stand. It smelt heavenly, but went out of business quickly.
Their prices were high, plus, most people were just wanting to go in and get what they needed and
get out. It’s hard to spend $3 or $4 on a brat or dog when you will be spending so much more inside.
Take Care,
Fieldthistle

Go to the local Home Depot and ask the manager. Most likely they will put you in contact with the regional office.
Worked for them at a newly opened store and it seemed to me that the food vendor started when the store opened to the public or very soon after. I have a feeling there is a waiting list for one of these spots since the are always busy.
The vendor at my store sold bento and brats.
