Thank You Zio, and right back at ya! And to all Dad’s
It’s tough when you know everything, and nobody wants to listen[lol]
Here’s wishing me and all the other fathers, grandfathers and
great-grandfathers a very Happy Father’s Day.
I have gone through the Father Knows Best period and now
am in the Father Knows Nothing Period——-the world was a better
place back then.
Happy Dad’s Day—have one on me !!!!!!!!!
Well, I had a record high return for a Father’s Day call-in.
Of six sons , five called or visited including a breakfast with one. The sixth is the new 2nd Lt who spent the day in some sort of Tank crew training at Ft Knox.
Of two daughters, the Wisconsin one (the good one), called and let us know the 4th of July schedule. The other one never calls anyway so no big deal.
Thats a total of 6 of 8 possible or a 75% score. That is a record!!
Happy day to all you daddy types, whether it be by birth, by circumstance or by leather. 😉
I’ll tell you what, a lot of dad’s got taken out for BBQ yesterday, I love Father’s day!
Don’t think of the hours you played catch so they could learn to play in the little league, and how many hours you sat and watched them make errors and strike out ——- then have to say “I guess it is the thought that counts”. BS !!!!!!!!! They can think all year—–
I guess kicking them out of the nest as soon as they can walk is not acceptable.
So, my son (22) comes home from work at about 11PM last night and says “Happy Father’s Day, I was going to get you a case of beer but all the liquor stores are closed”.
I guess it’s the thought that counts.
My daughter came thru though, so I was 1 for 2 this year. I’ve done worse.
Hey Al——It may be that its the thought that counts but if it’s MY Fathers day breakfast-it darn well better taste good too!
Good for you Al—–you sure thought about them enough for them to think about you once in a while—–especially tomorrow.
I love it when a plan comes together—–Have a great breakfast, Al.
Hope all the fathers had a great day yesterday. iqdiva made a very beautiful post with a picture in Facebook yesterday. I started to read what she had posted to Brian and started crying. I couldn’t continue. He walked over and read the rest of it, and immediately walked away to the bathroom and started blowing his nose. So I knew he was crying, but hiding it, as some men do.
We both miss our dads!
Wabbit, and others,
I must eat my words (previous post griping about inattention from the kids)… One of my sons called today to offer to take me out to breakfast tomorrow! That’s a first for any of my boys! I gladly accepted and will find out if it is Happy Meal time when he picks me up. Frankly, it doesn’t matter where we go, because this is the perfect example of, It’s The Thought That Counts !!!!! [:X]
To all the Father’s out there… Happy Fahers day.
I am indeed, the keeper of the “tree of family knowledge” for my family, while they, the fruit of my loins”, might as well be deaf and blind.
8 of the total of 10 ‘children’ (min. age 32) are directly mine, and 2, maybe 3 will remember to call sometime late Sunday night, hoping I will be asleep. I won’t be… I’ll stay up just to carry on an extended conversation about hemmroids and other family news !
Awesome!!! I love it!!
Happy Fathers day to all the guys who aren’t as smart or good looking as me, so happy Fathers day to every dad in the world.[;)]
EL Papa Joe —– I was talkin’ bout the picture of the sundae on the cover page.
I guess I wasn’t very explicit. I yusta be explicit but that was long ago when I was
not over the hill.
Mr Original —yes that is the truth. Men are good for siring (they should get a stud fee) and bringing in the money—after that give ’em a beer and a TV set, or let ’em go hunting or fishing—what they have to say is not important.
