The GFS brand dogs and sausages are made by Kent Quality Foods in Grand Rapids, MI (Same area as GFS corporate headquarters). They’ve been discussed here before, and are a good, tasty product!
Has anyone tryed selling GFS Hot Dogs and Sausages on their carts.Prices seem real good.Just didn’t know how good their product is.
The all beef GFS dogs are good. I have noticed they hold better in water instead of steam. They are a little greasy like Localnet said, but overall a pretty good dog.
Thanks for the input “All”…
Sorry Vic..musta missed it…thanks for the info and the link…
I serve all beef 5-1 and 8-1’s, Brat and Polish all of them are good products that my customers love. I also use use the GFS brand buns (white and wheat) and like them both.
I serve their 8/1 All Beef grilled and love them. Lots of compliments.
I played with them (GFS brand dogs) and I did not like them, hold time was short and they were very greasy compared to the Viennas I sell. If you are in Columbus, check with your local Restaurant Depot and see if they can get you some Vienna brand dogs. My customers love them, they are worth a look, and you can charge more for the premium dog and still have a very healthy profit.
