I do have “old” eyes so it just may be me….
Hard to red the “buttons” at the top (Home, Menu, etc).
“The” in your logo almost disappears (white outline needed?)
Increase size of font on your dog titles. Bump your toppings font up to match the description font size
On your “contact Us” page… change the colour of your link to make it easier to read. I often just write down the link and use it later, not click on it immediately.
Other than that… looks nice! Wish mine looked that nice.
The first thing that caught my eye were the logos of Sabrett, Vienna Beef, and Hebrew National. I think that makes a good impression, since even if potential event planners are not familiar with the brands, they can quickly find out these are high quality brands. The logo is fun, as well.
Are you going to serve dogs to the public in addition to catering events? The Facebook page does not give a clear answer. We have some mobile food vendors up here who use Facebook and Twitter to announce where they will serve the general public if they set up in a public place.
If unsure about the nature of a business, I look to see if the web site has a “About Us” section. You may want to consider such a section.
I hold down a full time sales job M-Fr so the hot dog cart is my therapy (really). I love to cook and interact with people.
I like the idea of an About Us page. My son will try and secure a weekend spot over the summer.
I’ll look into Skype as I don’t know much about it. Thanks for the input.

I’m not into twitter or facebook, so if anyone wanted to contact me, they could use email or the phone.
However, Skype might be useful ….. a person could call or use their Ipod, laptop or blackberry to place orders while driving over or placing order at the take-out window.
Made a few minor tweeks but overall, pretty happy. I’m not into blogging too much nor into podcasts so a static sight that looks professional, clean and provides some basic information was my goal. Thanks for all the kind words. This weekend, I’m taking the cart to the park with a full set up and doing a quick photo shoot. I think having more photos of a clean cart makes a lasting impression. Again, thanks for the feedback.
I appreciate all the feed back. I should point out that I’m using a very remedial web page builder (iWeb) on the Mac – and my skills are very limited. Until I gain more experience and a deeper wallet for software, I’m limited by software capabilities and experience.
As far as the black background it’ll have to stay until I get the Pantone converted RGB background in Photoshop to match the Pantone converted RBG background on the web. I’m obviously not matching the right color profiles. Black was easiest to match. I’m also limited on the headers – or at least haven’t figured out how to change the attributes.
Love it! Hell, I want a dog!
Looks really Nice!
Good looking site. Good contrast between back ground and text, which makes it easy to read.
Rock and Roll.
I love your dog. He looks happy friendly and motivated. Seeing him makes me think you are the same way…when you are operating your business. [8D]
I like the new Art of the Cart tab with the great photos. Just missing a ‘p’:
“More importantly the To Dog cart”
Got it – thanks for the catch.

Not into black backgrounds on websites but like yours works. Also like the signage on the cart sharp. Dog theme still there. Did you have someone local do the job.
The black background was supposed to be the blue outside the black box. The trouble is, I’ve never built a website before and I couldn’t get the blue background of our signage to match the blue background in the web software. Black was the easiest to match. I wanted to get something up quickly as the event season is right around the corner.
Once I’m more experienced in the software, I’ll make some changes and add some features. I think most people can get a good idea of what we do and get a good look at our cart as well.
I designed the cart signage and had a local imaging studio output and install the graphics on another plexi panel. Another reason I went with the Top Dog cart is the flexibility to change out signage based on events. My son starts at a new high school next year and we’re going to use it for the booster club/fundraising. I’ve already got two interested groups for Dallas Cowboy tailgating parties beginning in August (pre season).
You know Roadkill, thats pretty annoying multi-posting like that. Why don’t you wait until you have enough posts like the rest of us. And in my opinion what you are doing is a form of spamming. And just so that you are aware, I have reported your actions to a moderator for review.
Didnt mean to annoy you, You could obviously see my intentions, guess that doesnt matter any… Keep up the good work, maybe youll finally get one of those official Internet police badges to throw around if you tattle enough. LOL
Someone who uses the word “tattle” to describe someone pretty much self admits that they have done wrong. Your postings and eagerness to post links are very strong. Why not wait and make legitimate posts and the privileges will come soon enough? I am mature and responsible enough to tell you that I was the one who reported you. I could have said nothing and reported anonymously. I’m also mature enough to not respond to anymore of whatever you say about this issue. Next time you abuse the forum, I’ll just report you again. Best Wishes DD
Waydeg,
That is a very nice start. I know how much work is involved as I am currently updating my website for my non hot dog business. The hot dog related site will be the next one when we get ready to start soon and complete the trailer and inspections.
The only thing I noticed with my brief look is the MENU BUTTONS at the top of the pages does not show up well. You need to have them stand out better. You could possibly add a backround color shpe to them with a contrasting color for the font labels. Or just change the font color to a brighter contrasting color[/color] as to the page color.
Good Job and it will only improve I’m sure.
Dennis
