Sorry but the food shown is not up to par for jb.Looks thrown together. Peas look overcooked and I hate those fake mini carrots. It also appears to be toasted hamburger buns. Finally one picture of jb is enough……lol Russ

Actually, this looks like a combination of two meals that I make that my family and friends can’t get enough of. Even my child, who is trying to stay away from beef, will get out the fork, (no knife needed), for them.

One is I take a regular nice pot-type roast, (whatever looks best that day), put it into one of those blue and white speckled roasters with beef stock, onion, celery, carrots, potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic cloves, Johnny’s Seasoning, bay leaves and maybe some butter and cook low and slow in the oven. Thicken the stock for gravy if desired and serve with rolls if you’d like. I usually let the potatoes be the main starch.

Two is to take an eye round roast and cook it in the same roaster, at a different time, of course, with the stock, salt and pepper and maybe the Johnny’s Seasoning. Serve with rice and peas and definitely make gravy with the stock from the pot.
The family loves canned Le Sueur peas, which I cannot stand, so I meet them half way by using the frozen ones instead.

One of the great dishes of New Orleans is Chicken Clemenceau, especially that served at Galatoire’s. The recipe specifically calls for canned peas. Using fresh would not be an improvement.

Dear Lord!!!! SO HUNGRY!!!!! It’s been a long time since breakfast, and that looks good. I don’t understand the hatred for canned peas! So mushy, so delicious!!! I’m not sure exactly what this is, but I would happily try it.

My question is are those turned baby carrots or cocktail wienies?
I do have to agree that there are points off for the canned peas.

It appears to be a very weird version of Risi e Bisi which is normally made with fresh baby peas and sliced pancetta…………..oh well!

Since there is no description of what that plate of food is supposed to be- I certainly would not be one to order anything like that out at any type of restaurant- so I’m just guessing that this is something someone made at home?
the meat and rice look interesting but the over abundance of canned peas is just too much- a salad or even fresh or frozen peas would have made for a better and maybe even a tastier meal?
