It must have been the beans in the chili that did ’em in.

I have some sad news to tell… I just found out this afternoon that Diggity Dogs Grill in Blauvelt, New York is no more. I rode by the shopping center it was in and it had white stuff on the windows and a note saying that they will miss their loyal customers.

    RIP Diggity Dogs Grill[:(]

Blauvelt. . . right next to Tappan.
I used to run around that area back in the early 70s. Actually worked for O&R for a while on summer vacations from college.
I’ve had hotdog chili w/ beans. It’s ok.

Otherwise, it is a great local dog spot!

Finally… A true Chili Dog with beans outside the state of Michigan! Thank You!!!!

It’s the onion rings that are turning me off- but, what the Hell, that’s (Blauvelt) not all that far from me and I’ve got some business to do in New City someday soon , so I’m gonna give Diggetydog a try and if JD Spedies would like to meet with me there It would be my pleasure.

    Cheers, John

Well, if the chili dogs have beans why would anyone actually eat one of them? I can see using them to throw at marauding pigeons, but surely no one would consider such a thing fit for human consumption.

Well for the first time since the late 1970’s, Rockland County has its own local non Truck Hot Dog Establishment. Diggity Dogs, located in Blauvelt on Eire Street just off Route 303 is a nice establishment that occupied a space that was once a chinese restaurant. The decor is all Texas. Aside from Hot Dogs- you can have a plain dog for $1.95; the diggity dog is topped with hot suace, onions and mustard for $2.45- there are hamburger that are flame broiled (plain for $2.05,chesseburger for $2.35), and tex-mex specialties, just to name a few. Avoid the fries-they are frozen preprocessed from a local supermarket. Overall I give Diggity Dogs 3.5 out of 5 Franks.
BTW, it opened this past Monday, so maybe the fries might be REAL the next time I visit!
