OK, I’ll give it another shot!
Ok, here’s the report on Pierson’s. It’s still hard to find, impossible to get a parking place and the setting leaves a lot to be desired but the food is excellent. Love that North Carolina pork sandwich!
Phil, I’m going back to Pierson’s tomorrow. I hate its location in the back of a bar but I do love their pulled pork. I’ll report back on how things are now.
Anyone know the exact address of Daisy May, and/or has anyone eaten there?
Good article, apparently written by someone who enjoys & understands barbecue.
The Lang person needs to take a long walk on a short plank. He ain’t cookin’ barbecue. Those individuals (I refuse to say "people") accused of "parboiling meat before cooking it over charcoal or gas, supplementing wood heat with gas and, some say, the occasional drizzle of liquid smoke" need to precede him to test the water depth. Yep, I read it with great interest this morning, and it gave me a couple of new places to try. I guess I should also re-try Pearson’s, because I was entirely underwhelmed when I tried it a few months ago — although I did enjoy the fact that it was hard to find.
The Wednesday NY Times did a big story on barbecue restaurants in Manhattan and yes, Piersons is opening a new branch in the city. It was a great read. Any comments?
Did you see Times article on barbecue?
