Boiled, over-cooked and served cold in a soggy bun wrapped in foil.
They have a teriyaki dog and smoothie special. LA, you know.
A Dodger Dog is a luke warm hot dog. It has a porky taste, no snap and is lacking the texture I like in a hot dog. I always get one. I never like it. It’s tradition.
Mrs. Chicken and I spent last Wednesday at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, AZ and since it’s the shared spring home of the White Sox and Dodgers we took it upon ourselves to compare a Dodger Dog (top) to a Vienna Beef frank ($6 each):
It may have been a comparison but it wasn’t much of a competition; we preferred the VB dog without question in terms of both flavor and texture. Hopefully Dodger Stadium has other hot dog options available!
The only Scrapple I can find in AZ is made by Farmer John’s.
Farmer John started in 1931. At that time they were still pretty much on the outskirts of L.A. When I was young, we used to pass Farmer John’s on the way to my uncle’s business which was a few blocks away. Still an industrial area, but in the heart of the city now!
Interesting that they are made by Farmer John. Being an East Coast Guy I never knew that. When I think of LA and Farmer John, instead I think of this long ago Top 20 hit by a seminal East LA Group. I wonder which came first, The meat company or the Song.

We have them here too @ Smart -Final but they arent very good! As a rule I dis-like Any Farmer John product!
There are a few others but these are VERY VERY hard to beat!
It’s kind of humorously appropriate that a package of Dodger wieners features Steve Garvey’s number…[;)]
Ed, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who hasn’t seen a grilled Dodger Dog.
Dodger Dogs can be found in the frozen food section at Smart & Final in the Bay Area. Go figure.
I haven’t tried them.
Smart & Final has them here too.

More Hot Dogs are sold at Dodger Stadium than are sold at any other baseball park.
They’re a 6/1 pork dog and available on Amazon.com

Nothing too special.
Glad to see you back,Thanks. It took awhile to raise the bail money but I should be out until the trial starts.
We’re all rootin’ for you! I say, if they don’t have your fingerprints or your DNA, you didn’t do it.
Of course, those fried chicken breading crumbs you left behind at the scene could work against you…
Buddy
Dodger Dogs were originally made by one of the sponsors, Farmer John. As many have said, it’s a 10 inch dog. In all my years I have only seen them steamed, not grilled. How is it? Tastewise, just the dog, undistinguished. With mustard and onions and watching Fernando, Koufax or Kershaw pitch, one of the most delicious things you could have and easy to eat 2 or 3. The taste is much better with a ballgame!

Buy one and share it for the experience. Also buy a Jodi Maroni Italian Sausage for the taste.

I’ve never been able to find them grilled at the stadium. They do exist because several have mentioned them to me.
There was a whole book about Dodger Dogs (well really it was just one chapter of it). In any event it’s a great snapshot of what it was like to visit every MLB ballpark in 1985, and yes sample the hot dogs in each of them:
