I am glad Chi Chi’s is gone. I knew their largest franchise group and they were awful.
They imploded.

They went out of business in 2004 after a Hepatitis-A ourbreak.
However, there does appear to be a Chi Chi’s in Belgium and in Luxembourg
Are there anymore Chi Chi’s? I know they all left Michigan about 5 years ago, but lot of restaurants leave Michigan, eg. Shoneys, Jack-in-the-Box, Sir. Georges Smorgasbord, Shakey’s Pizza,etc….. I would like to know if any of these are still around?
I miss their blackberry margaritas.
They had a restaurant workers special on their margaritas
We stopped in their after closing the OG for the night.
Several 48 or 64 oz margaritas and then head over to dixie chili for some grub….
(man there are times I miss those days [;)])

Yes they’re still there in Luxembourg. Completely different vaguely mexican food to the vaguely mexican food they dolloped out here in the US. Edible but there’s so many fantastic little restaurants in Luxembourg that it’s not really worth bothering with unless you miss US chain style dining that much.
<<However, I still see their salsa; their "medium" is good stuff.>>
Gotta totally disagree on that one. Our local Costcos in NJ switched from Old El Paso (which I kinda like) to Chi Chi’s a few years ago, and I think it’s watery and kind of boring. Only bought it once and that was enough. –Ken
Their margaritas and fried ice cream was good at least [:D]
Gone and not lamented. However, I still see their salsa; their "medium" is good stuff.
Yes, the hepatitis outbreak in the Pittsburgh area did them in.
We used to have one right here in Egg Harbor Township, (10 miles from AC)…
they spent months and months cleaning it up, and now it is a Carraba’s..
I’ve noticed their salsa still being sold at the Big Lots store
