Of course … here I am, the broken record … The Brickyard, grilled wings are among my faves in the US.
Gregg, have you tried Booth’s Bowery? They have won the "Best of" for wings every year for as long as I can remember. I’ve been here for 28 years, they opened in 1984.
Not in the midwest, but…

Although not Buffalo wings per se, the garlic wings at Gordy’s in North Bend, or Tukwila, Washington are a nice treat.
Thanks Gregg, if I am in that area, I will try Gordy’s.I actually can tolerate the pizza around here, while it is certainly not world class, there are a couple of places that are passable. The wings I have had however have been positively gruesome. The worst I had were at the brewpub in Issaquah, they were like sparrow legs with Tabasco sauce dumped on them. And they werent cheap either.
Better hurry … I just got word they are closing … They have an equally excellent restaurant in Tukwilla by the golf course (kind of on the way to the airport.)
has ne1 been to culpeppers in st louis? last time i was there it was really good but ive heard that its gone down hill since.
P.J. Whelihans on Tilghman ST, Allentown PA. Very saucy, plump juicy wings. Tuesday nights they’re half price.

Oops. Daytona.
Are we talking about BEST in the state of New York or maybe the North East or maybe the entire country of the United States of America, North America, the Western Hemisphere, the entire world, or the whole glorious universe?
This may take some time.

You would think that was true, but have you ever tried any from NW Washington ? I have. While there are many good foods, and some fantastic beers around here, you just dont want to order wings. At least not from any of the places I have tried them.
i didnt meen best region for buffalo wings i ment best restaurants in the midwest regions but i travel alot so outside midwest is fine.
I don’t know why you wouldn’t be able to get good Buffalo wings anywhere. There’s no special regional ingredients (chicken wings, a deep fryer, hot sauce, butter, blue cheese dressing), no mysterious preparation (deep fry wings, toss in hot sauce/butter mixture, serve hot with blue cheese dressing). It seems that anyone that wanted to serve them could make them very well with little effort.

For me, the best in the Pittsburgh area is Wings, Suds & Spuds by the Pittsburgh airport in Moon Twp. I am not a fan of Quaker Steak & Lube, except for their original location in Sharon, Pa.
I’ve found that you can’t go wrong anywhere in Upstate NY or the eastern rust belt ie. Pittsburgh.
