Okay, fair enough. My definition of processed is different. But your point is valid in your description.

(Although McDonald’s http://mcdepk.com/ChickenMcNuggets2008/mediadocs/McNuggets_Timeline.pdf Chicken McNuggets are typically offered as an example of a popular MSP-based food, since 2003 that product has been made with all white meat rather than MSP.)
Which I greatly miss…too bad they don’t offer “Classic McNuggets”![}:)]

We do… but they’re processed sausages as well. They are one of the better grocery store options, but still nothing like you’d get from a butcher. We just don’t have a large enough Italian population for butchers here to make it, although I can get every kind of Polish sausage you could ever hope to eat.

The thing is, all formed meat, regardless of who makes it, is processed. Unless it’s an actual cut of meat like a steak, it’s processed. Ground. Shaped. Processed meat doesn’t have to mean hot dogs… it covers any meat that is sold in a different form or shape than it came from the animal. And actually, since deer processing is a huge business here, I’d have to say even steaks are “processed” meat. [;)]

No they are not pink slime, they are, however, gray foam. My Daughter loved to eat this food-like substance when she was young until I broke one open and told her to take a look…Did it like at all like chicken? Why was it gray? Why does it look like foam rubber? Why do they seem to come in three or four shapes like a puzzle?

Its not pink slime but it is engineered food. Seemed to me it would be easier to chop actual chicken breast, bread it and fry it but then they would use too much chicken, have no portion control and lose money, because, after all that’s fast food is about.

Are chicken nuggets pink slime or chicken mush?  Either way, this video is not appetizing.

Some of us don’t have the luxury of being able to buy Italian sausage from a butcher. The stuff at the grocery store is processed.

That said, I’m truly sick of this stupid “pink slime” thing cropping up every few months. It’s been over a decade.

Sweet Italian sausage, for the most part, in my neck of the woods is not processed. Not unless you buy precooked, and no good butcher would ever sell that here.

The Burger King “chicken fries” seem to be real chicken. I had some when they were first brought back. They were not good enough, though, for me to go back for more.

I do, sometimes, get a 4 pc McNugget pack. They ARE engineered food, and DO look like grey foam inside, but I kind of like them once in a while.

Sweet Italian sausage is one of my favorite foods, and that, also, is processed.

Both McD’s nuggets and their McRib have a (to me) ‘unsettling’ texture reminiscent of ‘veggieburgers’.

That said, recently I was in a real rush for lunch the other day (McD’s does have “fast” perfected) and ordered a Quarter Pounder w/ cheese and a chocolate shake.  I hadn’t had either of these McD ‘staples’ for more than a decade.

I was delightfully surprised by both being really decent; they have definitely changed their ‘shake’ formula and the QP w/C was actually moist and substantial.

    The bill, though, was $7.00![:0][V]
