Thank you, Elise!
Not much is within walking distance of the convention center. Two places I like for atmosphere (haven’t eaten there lately) are The Spaghetti Station and the Johnny Reb’s.
I actually like the shrimp sandwiches in the little take-out part downstairs better than ordering off the menu in the fancy sit-down place. Last time we went the roux in the gumbo had been burned, so be forewarned.
Thank you, Ed.
If I had stumbled across that restaurant researching on my own, I would have probably ignored it, thinking that Downtown Disney was in the park.
That is as far away as I will want to go. I will be there for a convention this weekend, and won’t want to take the time to ravel farther.
Walking distance, huh….that makes it tougher if you don’t want chain food. Downtown Disney is not too far away from the Hilton—-my choice there is Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. From the family that owns Brennan’s and commander’s Palace in NOLA, it has excellent food. My choice——get there around 7, sit at the bar (you can eat dinner at the bar) and wait for the jazz group that starts at 7:30. Doesn’t get much better then that! Appetizers are good—-I like the spring rolls and the etoufee.
Outside of that, there are a thousand places within walking distance—-and not much that isn’t a chain and/or fast food. If you feel ambitious enough to take a bus, there are many good places within a 10 or 15 minute bus drive—-let me know and I’ll make those suggestions.
Any good places to eat within walking distance of the Anaheim Hilton?
