Michael & Stephen –
The tour looks fantastic! The promo stuff is especially mouth watering! Already got airfare and a car lined up…just waiting for High Noon!
Thanks for all your efforts in coordinating this event!
A question for Roadfood eating-tour veterans: do you do anything to prepare physically for a trip like this? Like, eat a lot of yogurt, or salads/greens/high-fiber foods, for a few days ahead of time to get the old intestinal flora and digestive/GI systems revved up?
I’ll be in the area for two more days after the tour; unfortunately, those are the two days of the week that the Bobcat Bite is closed. Planning on trips to the O’Keeffe Museum and the Sandia Peak Tramway.
so, who is planning to go ?????
What fellow Roadfooder Insiders will buy their tickets right away on Aug. 2nd ???
WELL ??????????????????
September 17 & 18, Friday and Saturday, Roadfood.com is coming to devour New Mexico. Based in Albuquerque, the tour will take participants to Santa Fe, to the New Mexico State Fair, to the chile fields of the Mesilla Valley and to a visit with Dr. Paul Bosland, Chileman Supreme. Of course, we will be eating all along the way, from the legendary sweet rolls at the Frontier Cafe to green chile cheeseburgers and banquets of only-in-New Mexico cuisine. For details about each restaurant we’ll visit, check out http://www.roadfood.com/EatingTours/43/new-mexico-roadfood-tour-2010 this eating tour. For those of you needing a rental car…Priceline has Avis Premium Category car rentals for $22.00 per day. That’s the lowest I have seen.
Thanks for the heads up. Was that their Name your Own Price option, picking up and dropping off at ABQ airport?
So far the best rental car price I have seen at ABQ is a mid-size from Thrifty for $17.36/day (plus taxes and fees).
William, Welcome to Roadfood! Glad you decided to quit lurking and jump right in. Looking forward to meeting you on the tour. Oh, and is Bill’s Hamburgers still as good as ever?
Hello everybody, I’m a Roadfood n00b who has occasionally used the site to get recommendations for occasional travels. This year I was determined to go eat my way around New Mexico sometime during September, so I went to the site just to see what you guys said was on the must-eat list — needless to say I was pleasantly surprised at the news of the NM Tour, and signed up immediately. I’m looking forward to the meeting/greeting/eating!
cheers, William
Duh….Red or Green and the Bolo…
Not sure why this took me so long…

We’ll miss you…I’ll have an extra green chili cheeseburger for you at Bobcat Bite!
And if that illness should strike a little early…I can muster up an excuse for you!
I’ll volunteer to eat for you should you be full at any of the stops! [:D]
As I have just come out of the mountains of Utah…I am glad to see all the talk about eating in ABQ! I plan on dining along with many of you! Looking forward to getting to the planning stages.
Looking forward to the trip in two weeks. We just got a couple of surprises confirmed. I can assure you this will be another unforgettable trip.
I’m very excited about the surprises, but I’d like to make a request: would it be possible to give us some forewarning about the surprises, just so we can budget our appetite? I worry about being too full to appreciate a fabulous surprise.
Gracias!

After everything I plan on eating during the tour, I don’t think the balloon would get off the ground, with me in the basket!
Enjoy your ride.
From my desk in Bethesda, MD., it sounds like fun! I hope I still think so once the balloon takes off….! [:D]
