Yura
Review by: Michael Stern
I am frustrated. I spent two days staying at a hotel across the street from Yura and visited it as many times as I could, but left so many delicious looking baked goods untasted. Everything I did sample is terrific; a few items, like Tastes Like Chocolate Ice Cream Cake (with mousse filling), lavasch crisps, and butterscotch pecan pie, are unforgettably wonderful. However, I did not have time or appetite to try Mounds Bar Cake, Sticky Salted Dark Caramel Spice Cake, strawberry rhubarb pie, or Alabama Banana Cake. Nor have I had a chance to eat any of the yummy-looking lunchtime entrees. I am so eager to return!
Do note that Yura is mostly take-out, with only a few little windowside tables to which you can carry your bagged goodies and some of Yura’s fine coffee and have a sit-down snack.
