West of Seattle between Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish, Bellevue is a sprawling suburb with restaurants that represent cuisines of the world, Asia especially. Shanghai Cafe, which looks like an everyday shopping-center Chinese restaurant and offers all the expected dishes, is known among savvy eaters for its earthy, barley green hand-shaven noodles, made each day. In fact, an entire page of the cafe’s menu is devoted to noodle dishes. Bellevue also is home to Lil’ Jon Restaurant & Lounge, which, despite its name, is notorious for the immensity of its morning cinnamon roll and for huge portions of everything.
