Like a quiche without the crust or a mighty unfolded omelet, a frittata mixes eggs with cheese, vegetables and/or meat. The ingredients may be stirred into the raw eggs or added as it bakes. While its origins are Italian, the frittata often is a notable presence on menus in restaurants where brunch is an important meal.
