There are brownies, which can range from cakey to fudgy and from plain to nut-studded and chocolate frosted … and there are Killer Brownies. While many places sell what they call Killer Brownies, the term is in fact a trademarked name for the astounding ultra-super-duper-death-by-chocolate squares originated at Akron, Ohio’s West Point Market. (The market is gone, but its killer brownies still are available by mail at https://www.wpmbrownies.com/) Profoundly chewy and incomprehensibly fudgy, studded with chocolate chips and chopped walnuts and layered with thick caramel, a single original killer brownie contains a lifetime of sweet-tooth pleasure. In addition to originals, the West Point Market bakery turns out Killer triple-layer blondies, peanut butter krazies, Kona Kahluas, bourbon pecans, chocolate raspberry suicides, and Killers without nuts.
