Dobber’s Pasties

Review by: Michael Stern

Dobber’s (with locations also in Escanaba and Menominee) is one of the best places to taste the Upper Peninsula of Michigan specialty, the pasty. Pronounced Pass-tee, it is a pastry pocket loaded with a veritable stew of beef, rutabagas, potatoes and onions. Available here or by mail order, Dobber’s pasties also are available in chicken and vegetarian versions.
