Frozen Pudding Ice Cream

Vaguely similar to what is known as French vanilla, frozen pudding ice cream has the extra richness of added eggs. It’s a favorite in New England, where in some cases it is infused with rum and sometimes also raisins – like rum-raisin flavored ice cream, but richer and usually fruitier. In fact, some versions also contain a tutti-fruity melange of candied cherries and bits of pineapple. Frozen pudding ice cream is especially popular during the holiday season, when it provides a flavor profile similar to egg nog, but won’t get you drunk.

I’ve loved frozen pudding ice cream for years and I am 80 yrs. old… So you know I’ve enjoyed it for a long time. Cherry Vanilla is my next best ice cream.
