Sadly, descriptions of RF places do me no good without pics. I need that visual stimulation. [:(]
I ache for one of those New England style buns with a regional dog in it!

Aha. Why would anyone have time to read a newspaper there? I would be too busy eating. [:p]
I can truthfully say I’ve never seen a sign like that, and I was once an over the road trucker and have many RF type joints under my belt. Literally. And figuratively.

The place I am referring to is the White Hut in West Springfield, MA…in biz since 1939 and the ONLY place even remotely of its kind in Massachusetts. I did a roadfood two-fer….went there for onion-smothered burgers, fries and a Stewarts root beer….then on to Donut Dip before getting back on the Mass Pike. Donut Dip…like stepping back into the 40’s….amazing decor and donuts like they used to be made.
Sadly, here in central MA…we’re dominated by the chains..Crapplebees, Ruby Snoozedays, Ahlove Garbage, Macmerunaway Grill….Picabadmeal Pub…99 Pub (99 reasons why I won’t go there)
…Chilly’s (my Chilly reception to the food)….Wronghorn Steakhouse,
….BarfOutback (after you eat there) Steakhouse, Draggin’ Donuts, and Honey Dew Not Eat Them Donuts…..
Hello All,
Could it be the "Hamburger Nazi?" (a new Seinfeld spinoff of Soup Nazi)
Take Care,
Fieldthistle
Where might this place be located as i’m hungry now?
You know its a real roadfood burger place when there is a sign on the wall behind the counter saying "NO READING OF NEWSPAPERS AT COUNTER BETWEEN 12 AND 2". And its not a hand lettered paper sign but a professionally made metal sign, like a road sign.
Only a true roadfood place would have so many throngs of lunch time customers that they have to impose that type of discipline. Especially a place with only four items on the menu (and no printed or posted actual MENU, by the way)….
Would you ever see a sign like that at a Crapplebees or a Ruby Snoozedays? I think not.
