my commissary is outside their delivery area…..and unless the HD starts following ppl around, then im not worried.
Why is it you have to call the Corp office to buy Boars Head products. If you have a permit to sell food, you can serve any product you want…..
well, here is the number (888) 884-2627. Call em and tell them your in northern cali and want to sell boars head off your hot dog cart. Maybe you will get a different response…..but i sure didnt get a good response.
Must be something new, we spoke to a guy operating a hot dog cart in Albuquerque a couple of months ago and he gave us the name of HIS Boars Head supplier. They knew he was selling on a cart.
ya see, I would never have thought to do a taste test on the hot dog I would have just done it on the toppings ..
well, no, I made intentions perfectly clear and clearly stated that the meat would be delivered and stored at a commissary and she insisted that because the product was going out on a mobile unit, they would not service us. Its against their policy….
See what happens when you mess with BillyB? Guess now your going to have to buy “vienna beef” through him… That will fix you…
Seriously though… Are you sure you were not just talking to the wrong person? I would try again… Sounds like someone misunderstood some new related corporate policy…
They told me that they CANNOT service me because I am a mobile business. I explained that I have a commissary and that the product would be delivered to the commissary which meets all of the sanitary and health department regulations etc and still, she said that they would not be able to service me. Unbelievable. Thanks Boars Head !
I think Red Hot Chicago is a knockoff or off shoot of Vienna Beef. Not sure.
But as far as there being a ‘prime rib’ of dogs it depends on where you are. Nathans is a highly respected dog in many places, but when I did my extensive blind taste tests before opening, out of 4 tests with 5 different dogs in each test and 4 different people in each test, Nathans finished last in 3 and next to last in the other. Who’s to figure?
I was thinking Boar’s Head was the prime rib of hot dogs .. never heard of Red Hot Chicago
They would prefer to deliver to a house rather than a commissary?
there is no BIG DEAL. Its just the one i decided to go with that could offer the most competitive pricing. Vienna is too expensive, Nathans is EVERYWHERE out here, and Red Hot Chicago wouldn’t be worth the shipping cost unless i ordered like 250lbs….which i dont have room for.
Maybe someone could tell me what the big deal is about “Boars Head”
I was wondering the same thing
THE WILD DOG
or if you really want, go buy em from the store and mark em up. simple fix there.
THE WILD DOG
Clearly you spoke to the wrong person. Boars Head direct doesn’t deliver meats. They go through food services companys like saval and such. At least in my area. They had no issues with me selling their product. The rep had to come out and inspect my set up prior to me having an account. I was approved and she was nice as can be, Took me forever to get my order filled, and once they found out I was using other products besides BH they gave me lots of problems. So I dropped them like a prom date and kept on moving.
They only wanted me to sell their product but took forever to fill my orders. Wasn’t a good marriage so I killed it.
Dig deeper into the company. Do some research on the ppl who sell em and ask who their rep is. That will get you in the right direction for sure.
