I guess I’m in by proxy. I despise Facebook (and most social media of that nature) and believe it is the Devil’s playground. But Mrs. Roadhouse is a member, and has signed on to the “Road Food” group. If I have anything to add to the conversation I’ll do it through her login. Meanwhile I’ll keep hanging out here, desperately hoping things will improve.
I am interested. Seem to spend more time travelling and eating than on the internet, lately.
Wow! It actually let me log in for the first time in like two weeks!
I just requested to join, because it’s a darn fine idea. Like Buddy I’ll still check in here periodically to see if it’s gotten any less stupid, but I’m not holding my breath.
I still cannot log in. lleechef.
From the bottom of the ‘About’ page:
[email protected] – email us here with any questions or comments regarding Roadfood Forums, or for Roadfood Forum login assistance.
At the bottom of that page are 7 other contact email addresses for various problems.
Don’t know if you’ve tried this Lisa, but thought I’d mention it.
It took me weeks to log in for the first time after we got punted over here. I contacted this email and said “Please send me a link to reset my password that works!!!”
After several weeks with no problems, I got logged out a couple of weeks ago. Took me about 20 minutes to get back on. The reset password protocol had changed a lot. I just accepted the password they generated for me.
I got logged out tonight after I started reading the board for some reason. I got right back on, first try, with the saved password. Good luck.
I share BuddyRoadHouse’s view of Facebook, so I’ll keep checking in here.
I don’t care for Facebook either. I’ve been tempted before but it always passes. Frustrating as this is, the future of Roadfood almost certainly is here on Fexy, not on another platform with another name and without the archived threads and reviews. Does closed group mean people who aren’t ‘approved’ or ‘recommended’ can’t even read the posts?
A lot of ther oldies are posting on the Facebook page.
Hope more of you change your mind!

I think they call it a “private” group. Closed means no one can even see it exists if they are not a member. This one is visible, but you have to join to see posts and members. This setting is controlled by person who started the group.
If Fexy is trying to drive us all away so they can drop the forum then divide and conquer is one strategy. BTW, I don’t think Fexy is trying to destroy the boards but the longer this draws out the harder it is to hold on to that belief.
A group of Houston Chowhounds broke away from the official site a couple of years before CBS sent in the hatchet squad to destroy the community. They started a private group on Yahoo. You had to be approved to even read the board, you had to take a quiz on restaurants, created by someone who happened to have parents in the business. How convenient. They got over 700 members so I understand, way more than ever contributed to the public board, but they had problems. I think among other things they found out that a lot of people who lurk…… you’re better off without them contributing (LOL)
It’s now a public group on Facebook and I check it regularly but haven’t joined. I don’t like the idea of private groups on a subject of such wide interest as what Chowhound or Roadfood covers.
