I remember a weiner king in Rocky Mount NC when I was a kid.
That weinerworks place. Website is in Danville that can’t be the only location because I have seen one near Fayetteville NC and there is one listed in the phone book in Clayton NC. They have the same excate logo as the Danville IL weiner works
There are a few of us who are the survivors of The Wiener King Chain and still in the hot business today. We originally owned two Wiener Kings in Danville, Illinois. Plus we bought the franchise rights to several surrounding cities. In the 1970’s Wiener King was the fastest growing hot dog franchise in the US.
In the 1980’s we formed The Wiener Works Group. Our family has been in the hot dog business for over 31 years. We are in store operators and find our success within the system. Fast / quality food! We still continue the tradition with our famous footlong hot dogs, chili dogs, and french fries. For more information check us out on the web: wienerworks.com

We had one in Carteret NJ in the late 70’s when I was a kid .
OOo, I forgot all about Weiner King!
I used to partake of their luscious corn dogs when I attended school in Gainesville, FL (go Gators!)
I also miss Der Weinerschnitzel. It was a drive-thru that had fries that tasted like McMonkeys (with the grease changed). Yummy yum! And they would give my dog a free weiner, too!
Now THAT’S customer service.
We had one here in Evansville in the late 1980’s — they were not bad as I was a 12 yera old at the time.
Thanks

In the late 1960’s, a chain called Wiener King made its appearance across the country. I remember seeing them alongside Burger King, Wendy’s etc on all the main thoroughfares. Then as fast as they appeared, they disappeared.
What ever happened to this chain? I think I was in one once and remember really nothing special.
