Thanks to all for the justification. Would you now please tell my wife?[lol]
Pancho, I never show my wife the bill, if she asks, I say “there on special today.” I know all the lying will catch up to me someday, I’m hoping it’s at my funeral…………..
I do the same thing, BUT…the stupid waiter leads off with…”Yes, we have the whole bellies, but we are getting market price which is $20 for 6 oz.” I almost felt like Oprah in Monaco when the clerk suggested she could not afford that $36,000 hand bag. [:D]

You guys are killing me! I would take good clams over beauty products any day!
Pancho.I don’t know about your wife, but when my wife comes home with a hundred bucks worth of skin cleanser/moisturizer/cream/etc, I have no qualms about spending that amount on good fried clams(especially since she doesn’t like them!.so she usualy gets a high-priced lobster roll!)

I hope the knee holds up and your feeling better, have a fun trip……….Stay healthy my friend………………Bill
Thanks, Bill. I’m doing fine. Go to the gym daily for exercises without fail. Hey, I just called down to the “clam place” in Myrtle Beach….they said they had not had them in weeks due to the red tide, BUT they were hoping to get some in next Monday. PERFECT!
Great spot…and price really doesn’t matter as long as the quality is there.

When one craves a good clam plate or clam roll…….price, these days, is irrelevent
Pancho, the luck was with you, I bet you were happier than a pig in sh-t. I agree with you, some things you can’t put a price tag on, this is one of them……………..hope the knee did well, great to see you had a fun time………………….Bill
Just got back from Myrtle Beach and the whole belly clam excursion and/or exercise in gluttony. Capt. John’s had not had them all summer due to the red tide up in NE. They finally got some in last Thursday for a PRICE. They were $15 for a 4 oz. portion and $20 for the 6 oz. I said the hell with it and ordered two of the 6’s and one 4 for my wife. They were fantastic. I also had a bowl of homemade haddock chowder and a lobster roll….hold your breath….$92 bucks before the tip! I’d do it again tonight. They were as good or better than any I’ve had in NE. Used to live in MA, NH, and ME and they were right up there.

Great to see you found a new treasure in a town you own your Condo at. I bet you are looking forward to your next trip there……………pnwc
Thanks for the nice thought. I’m going down again on 2/16 and bringing my wife this time. We are checking out the clam place the first Monday in town. She has never had them….in a way I hope she doesn’t like them….MORE for me! Merry Christmas!
Well, we never made it in February….I had a major knee injury on 2/15 (total rupture of the quadriceps tendon), and had to cancel. Just now getting back to normal in over six months. Horrible, gruesome injury. Anyway, we are leaving this Saturday (9/7) for another go. I hope they still get their clams…last time I checked he told me they were having a problem due to a red tide. More to follow…
