I too would love to meet everyone here in RF. My wish is to be able to retire soon so I can hit the roads and experience more RF. I am limited to vacation days, and those are mostly taken up with personal business and family. When I retire I want to travel through the towns where our RF foodies live and have lunch or dinner with everyone. Sit and have a great meal (hopefully), share good times, good conversations, and have a cold glass of sweet tea.
Y’all come back now ya hear!

It is strange that we have never met each other and yet we feel we know each other. So many of you have become familar with me and I feel like I know you except I do not.

Al and I discussed this yesterday. We have so many roadfood friends that we would not even recognize even if we saw them on the street. Many I would recoginize because I have seen their pics.

I wish I met all of you.

I wish for a Roadfood convention someday where we’d all congregate and meet. We’d participate in discussions of regional roadfood led by Michael and Jane Stern. Perhaps Alton Brown would be a guest speaker. We could trade food of our respective locations.

Like Star Trek convention trekkies, we’d be R effies.

    Cheesewit..??
    Tara here…
    That sounds like a plan..
    Maybe you…
    Yes.. I nominate YOU!
( or someone) Can initiate an annual gathering for next year sometime….. or whenever.

Instead of these little mini meets, an annual meeting somewhere..

With a long range plan, more people can plan way ahead to do this, and start an annual gathering.
It will take much planning, and someone[}:)][;)]needs to get the ball rolling for it, but…
    Hey…
I like the thought of meeting people that I have "spoken" with and have got to "know" thru the forum.
But I really dont want any trekkie t shirts!

I’d like to meet Lleechef and go to the French Laundry for dinner. She could tell me about the wines and explain the menu, and tell me about all the dishes, and what I should order.

I’d like to meet the Sundancer and Judi, just so I could give them both a hug, and tell them everything is going to be alright.

I’d like to eat a livermush sandwich with Ort, at that diner he frequents.

I’d like to go eat southwestern food with xannie.

So many more, but my arthritis is acting up, and my hands are too sore to do all that typing.

We were on a low budget and all we could afford was red stuff. The flag came with the bathing suits. On the left is EliseT, on top is Lone Star and RubyRose. Redtressed had the sniffles and could not make it that day. Zman and Sundancer took turns driving the boat……the rest is well….waterlogged!

Can you think of a better way to make a surprise attack?

No one expects the Cypress Gardens Style Water Ski Pyramid (…or the Spanish Inquisition!)
