I don’t know from grunt, buckle, slump, or pandowdy. I think I know what a crisp is, as in apple crisp, but I’m not sure. The only brown betty I’ve ever seen was the tiny portion of apple brown betty that was served with certain frozen TV dinners in the mid sixties. That stuff was still like molten lava 15 minutes after coming out of the oven.
