White House Sub Shop is my single favorite restaurant of all time, along with Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa. But that is like comparing apples to tomatoes. God, I miss the White House. You have to get the sausage parm sandwich if you go. It takes a little longer to make, but it’s my favorite, along with the cheeseburger sub.
White House used to get rolls delivered almost hourly from 3 bakeries. Atlantic City Bakery, Rando’s, and Formica. Now their sole supplier is Formica.
I’m partial to Sub Daddy’s ……..on Atlantic Ave., corner of California Ave., just up the street from the Tropicana Casino. They have great subs on homemade rolls. (love their tuna!)
The original location is in Absecon/Galloway township, but I was glad when they opened this 2nd location.
And late hours. Right across the street from the firehouse.
For when you want a change from the White House. A little variety….
Also, the Borgata Casino’s new food court downstairs has a Tony Lukes. (famous in Philly for their roast pork sandwiches.) There is even a Fatburger in the food court as well.
But bring a wad of cash for the finer restaurants, unless you qualify for a "comp".
Bobby Flay’s got a steakhouse there now; and Wolfgang Pucks’ got another place….
have fun and let us know how your luck $$ is…
ellen in AC area
WHITE HOUSE…the best!
White House has the rep but I believe they’ve changed bakeries for their rolls. I noticed this last year. Dino’s in Margate makes an excellent cheesesteak.
For high end dining, any of the restaurants in The Borgata can’t be beat.
Best cheesesteak and italian subs on the planet at The White House, corner of Arctic and Mississippi.
Best cheesesteaks in Jersey are at the White House Diner.
I am heading to AC for the first time this weekend. Any recommendations?
