Pssst. Hey buddy, over here. Ya wanna seem some pictures I took in Angelo’z kitchen????
Muffaletta (about 8.5″ diam), freshly made, served warm, ham, salami, mortadella, provolone, mayo, olive salad
Ummmmm good. From Paulie’s Poboys, another former Antone’s Original Poboys shop forced to change names. Both Paulie’s and Angelo’z have upped their game since being forced to drop the legacy name.
Forget the sandwich…that bread looks good enough to eat plain!
I tried to separate the ingredients to figure out what all there was – had to look up the menu online. The sandwich was tightly stuck together and filled out to the edges of the loaf all the way around. Yeah, it was a good sandwich but I have no idea what the bread is like by itself (lol). I never had one there before because they looked so lame; I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
I could eat that entire muffaletta. I’ve done it more than once in the past.
What is wrong with my font?
I’m still being strict and I had cottage cheese, cream, strawberries with a few blue berries and kiwi. Deya Vu?
We had stuffed peppers.
I fished a package of Colombian chorizo out of the deep freeze, pan-grilled a link. Had it on a split-top brioche hot dog bun. If I had been going for an authentic choriperros, I should have had mayo, ketchup, crushed potato chips and some pineapple syrup on it. Fortunately I didn’t have the last two ingredients so I just used some mustard. Damn good.
And some french fries.
Forgot all about the jar of pineapple fruit spread in the pantry. Maybe next time.
I browned some chicken thighs skin side down and then flipped them over to braise in white wine, mushrooms, thyme and oregano. No pineapple.
