l2b, I found them at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
I love walking through that store… to look.
I too love walking through that store…….TO BUY.
This forum is getting very quiet. What happened to Lisa and MH?
She got tired of TJ Jackson acting like a buffoon in the NFL thread so she said goodby and signed off for good. I don t blame her and she isn t the first one who has quit posting because of his act.
I’m hopeful that Lisa will return to Roadfood. She loves it here, and she enjoys talking about food and engaging with so many wonderful people. But the nastiness and stupidity of an idiot pushed her away.
I shared a lovely Shabus with our friends-bone in turkey breast and gravy, roast beef, homemade challah bread, fruit, potatoes, a wonderful green salad with vegetables fresh from the garden served with a really good hummus/tahini dressing. I am full.
Ann, you are better than I!
I cooked crawfish fettuccine alfredo.
I finally got back in my kitchen! Not that it was hard… I just made Mississippi Roast, with the addition of onions, carrots, and potatoes so I didn’t have to make side dishes.
Looks good felix! I’ve made that too and also add more peppers than the recipe calls for and I do add carrots.
Ed, you never fail to make my mouth water. I can’t decide if love you or hate you for that. [:p]
Tonight I made all other people’s recipes. Eggplant Lasagna (from Dlife.com), which is getting really close to what I want it to be, but gives me a way better starting point to tweak my own than others in the past. Served with Zucchini Chile-Cheddar Mash (from Eating Well), that really wanted to be drained but didn’t say to. And cottage cheese.
First time I made any kind of red sauce using fresh herbs from my garden, and all I can say is I am NEVER making sauce with dried herbs again. EVER!
Lemon Pepper Steelhead Trout, Caprese Salad, Baked Parmesan Zucchini
Beautiful, Felix! Love sushi!
I was starving. I hadn’t eaten all day, helping my friend, Karen with her problems and visiting my ortho-doc for a major shot in the neck.
On the way home my eyes were bigger than my appetite which was already huge when I ordered…
From Linzini’s near Marina del Rey… an extra large, 18 inch Supreme pizza. It was perfect for the way I was feeling. I ate 2 slices. I imagined eating five!
That’s dinner tonight!
That chicken pie looks awesome.
Those almost look like candied bananas to me. But it sounds like I better not try them!
Too tired to cook…. went to the store, got 2 pieces of chicken, potato salad & a diet pepsi…..drove 3 blocks down to the beach and watched the sunset.
Bought a whole ribeye for $5.98 lb. – sometimes these on sale ribeyes are not so good but this one was nice – trimmed the ends for kababs and got eight two inch steaks that were nicely marbled and very little fat surrounding. Grilled one tonight seasoned with olive oil, garlic & pepper. Baked potato and cucumber avocado and tomato salad.
Nope……..no buns for the weenies as the bun for the burger was more then enough! [:)]
Occasionally I was able to get opah (moonfish) when I was the chef at Black Cow Tap & Grill in MA. I was on vacation in CA wine country, staying in Yountville, and went to Brix. We looked at the menu, the server comes over and starts telling us the specials. When he got to “grilled opah” I said, “You can stop now!” It was delicious.
Leftover poutine for me!
My intention was to make glazed salmon and green beans with herb butter, but then mom didn’t want to eat. So I ate a big bowl of Reese’s peanut butter puffs cereal with vanilla almond milk. I’ve spent the day in my kitchen making stuff for a picnic with the guy tomorrow: smoked gouda and ham pasta salad, loaded baked potato salad, sweet & sour tomato and cucumber salad, white sangria, and lemon bars. We’re picking up a bucket of chicken to go with it.
