i love the hotpepper jelly with cream cheese…..
Cream cheese topped with hot pepper jelly.
Butter and preserves.
How about Almond Butter! (Stop & Shop "Nature’s Promise" oragnic)
Tastes like natural peanut butter. Other times, its tuna w/mayo. I prefer Manischewitz matzoh’s, but we ran out last week and had Saltines left.
Butter on saltines, sardines in oil on saltines,or saltines crumbled in tomato soup-that is all I use them for, except just plain eating.
I like PB&J but my favorite is when you are waiting at a sea food place. Saltines with a spuge of cocktail sauce, if you are feeling decadant, put butter on first.
Ahhhh, Shanghai Jimmy served oyster crackers w/ his chili rice. They go good with chili. I just put em on top. Clubs go good w/ lotsa stuff but not chili I think.
Saltines crumbled on a broiled tamato works on top of the other stuff.
I bought some Tony Chacherey’s "more spice". I have not tried it yet.
On the saltines homemade chicken salad
or kraft american cheese slices (ok ok ok any cheese will work)
In my soups CLUB crackers or lightly buttered eaten like that
under my chili oyster crackers
Remember Kent cigarettes with the "micronite filter" that passed the smoke "over, under, around, and through"? Well,
- Over: Chili, canned soups, casseroles (as a topping);
- Under: Sardines in mustard sauce, raw oysters with horseradish;
- Around: Cheese, cheese spreads, slices of sopressata and other hard sausages;
- Through: Milk: lightly buttered and toasted if milk is warm, plain if it’s cold;
[:p] and with just about any soft drink: the salt complements the sweet.
I usually like my saltines plain, but when I’m in the mood, tuna salad (tuna, MAYO, lettuce, chilled), or crumbled up in tomato soup. I love love love Saltines, and if it weren’t for cheez-its, they would be my favorite cracker.
1) sardines and Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning
2) cheddar cheese (sharp or extra sharp)
3) port wine cheese spread
4) lumpfish caviar
My favorite thing to put on saltines? Butter.
My favorite thing to put under saltines? Chili.
Hold the phone!!!!!
All the things I mentioned earlier that I would put on Saltines — sardines, Vienna sausage, cheese, summer sausage, venison salami, trail bologna — I would now also put on Ritz Roasted Vegetable crackers. In fact, I’d put them on these Ritz crackers more often that I’d put them on Saltines.I love these new (to me) things.
cabot brand vermont white chedder.
the dogs love them too.
[:D] I put on them cheddar cheese, or liver sausage.
