I used to really love winter, the colder the better. When I lived in Rochester, NY I went to work one afternoon and didn’t get home for 5 days. It started snowing and snowing and snowing and blowing and snowing. I used the Rochester, NY yellow pages as my pillow.

A few years ago a took a spill on some ice and and hurt my back, since then cold weather has bothered me.

I guess it is also getting older, and I don’t tolerate the cold as well. I used to go out in temps in the -10 to 30 range in my short sleeves and didn’t think about. I never owned a "heavy" coat for years. In November I bought a thick hooded sweatshirt with zipper to use this winter.

The first time I used it, it felt great.

I love sitting out on my porch at night watching the big fat fluffy flakes fall during a winter’s snow, watching the snow accumulate

I also love the howling wind of a winter storm

I love watching my son sled down our side hill, until he gets tired and makes me pull him and the sled back up the hill.

I just got back from Naples, FL just a few minutes ago. The high yesterday in Naples was 80+ and the low this morning was 65F. I get to Knoxville and they are talking snow and sleet with temps in the teens.

I like Knoxville and look forward to spring. I have to fly to Erie, PA next week and I do not look forward to that.

Large Snowflakes coming down with no wind blowing!
Temps near the freezing mark..not single digit like they have been recently.
    Early Spring.

I have to mention that my usual LP Tank Winter fill-up that has been in the $600 range for years, was $1200 yesterday. A huge jump in LP prices.

I love the fact that I spend them in Florida !!!!! I once liked
them but I got smart one day after breaking my wrist on icy pavement.
I check the temp on Long Island every day, and then say my prayers
in Thanksgiving. Excuse me please I have to go swimming now.

I love getting a drink of water super cold right from the tap!
Also sun on a fresh snowfall,
especially when there hasn’t been alot of wind and the snow is all pretty on the tree branches.
The best is if you see a bright red cardinal,
or maybe a big fluffy hawk sitting on a branch.

    Snowmobiling!….
Unfortunately, I cannot do it here in the south[;)]…
That, and making snow angels at 2 am when buzzed..
Taking short hikes and seeing frozen waterfalls…
Taking gorgeous photos of nature in a pristine state.
Putting my drinks outside to "chill" in the snow..
(All this I did when I lived in the Adirondacks)
    Things I hate…
Slushy gray crap that flies onto my car on the highway from the car in front of me!

I love working or playing out in the cold, and then having a nice hot lunch…perhaps including some nice hearty soup, or a good bowl of chili.

I can always find a way to dress warm enough no matter how cold, where as in the heat, I lose all ambition.

The thing I like best is that I sleep much better during the winter.

    Hello All,
Michael, thank you for reminding me of the local ponds
that would freeze over. We have many farmers and
each had pond for their animals. We would ice-skate
on them in my youth. They were a place of fun, exercise,
    and romance.
    Take Care,
    Fieldthistle

Not much I love about Winter. I is only 32 deg. here today in North Alabama and I’m freezing. I hate getting in the car with a big thick coat and waiting forever for the heater to warm up. I hate getting out of a warm bed on to the cold bathroom floor. It’s not that winters here are that bad, but I am person who stays cold all the time. I sit in front or a portable heater at work that is on every day, including summer. They keep the temp. so low here at my office. In the evenings at home while watching the tv I have a blanket on my lap and one over my shoulders.

I do have to admit that when it snows here I do love to watch the snow fall. Nothing is prettier than this.

My favorite time of the year is Summer. I guess because my son gets his two girls for the whole month of July and we have great times during this month. We go to Florida, lots of swimming and lots of mini trips.

Winter is my favorite season. I love the temperatures and the snow. I used to love to ski, and playing hockey on open ponds was one of my very favorite things to do.

Now, I very much enjoy the Fall of the year, and Spring isn’t too bad. I do very much dislike summer.
